The desire to climb the corporate ladder is a common goal for business people at all levels of the hierarchy. This article will address how procurement professionals can most effectively position themselves to work at the highest levels within their respective organizations, as based on a whitepaper I recently co-authored with a former CPO. In it, we assessed – based on personal experience – what’s needed to make oneself appealing to the board. Here’s a hint: it takes more than simply being good at procurement.
